Each orphan in the world has a name and a story, and each waiting child needs a family. For the church to really have an impact, we need first to hit our knees. From prayer springs action, born of love. We are inviting all those willing to join us in praying for these children and every orphan who is waiting for a family.

One of the most important things you can do to Show Hope is bring others along with you. Together we can do often more than we could ever do as individuals. Each member of the body is important and we all need each other. Maybe your friends don't care, are too busy, or think you're crazy. It doesn't matter. Ask anyways. You can awaken your community to the need for orphans in many creative ways. Go prayerfully, but go boldly and see what God does as you change your world for orphans.

Show Hope: raise
Orphan Sunday is November 8. You can raise awareness, funds and hope for orphans. Ask your church to participate in Orphan Sunday, host an awareness event, invite others to become Show Hope sponsors and change an orphan's world!

Change for Orphans
Start by asking people for a little, because giving a little can change a lot. Begin collecting loose change. Put a jar in your home or a bucket in your church. Pray
Each orphan has a name, as story, and a life that needs and deserves a family. God's heart for the orphan calls us to pray for the children behind the statistics. We know prayer works because we see it everyday and we want to invite you to pray for these children.

Share with Others
Speak with your family, youth group, small group, campus group or church. Use a Show Hope video or a story from your life, and ask people to join in this movement and see where God takes you.

Fundraising for Orphans
Hold a fundraiser: "What the world needs is people who have come alive." Do what makes you come alive. What you are passionate about, what you love, and do it for the orphans! Regardless of what you enjoy, there's probably some way to do that while raising money to show hope to orphans. |

Some Fundraising Ideas!
- Do you like cooking?
Hold a bake sale! Cook to your heart's delight and don't forget to ask others to join you. Sell your baked goods on the street, at a local event, door-to-door, or wherever you can. You can even find foster kids or local children's homes to help enjoy your culinary creations!
- What about sports?
Run your own sport-a-thon! What will it be? Running, bowling, cycling, basketball, skateboarding, soccer, golf or even chess. If you can play it, you can get others to as well and you can raise funds and awareness. Check out runninghope.org to run or walk for orphans.
- Do you enjoy stuff?
Host a yard sale! Take what you've collected and sell it for orphans. Give up some of the extra stuff you've got and show hope to those who have so little. Get together with others and hold a monster sale, or utilize the power of ebay to make a difference for orphans.
- Is music your thing?
Get ready to rock for orphans! Gather a crowd and tell them your heart for orphans. Host a benefit concert to change the life of an orphan.
- Are you dramatic?
Put on a play as a benefit to raise money for orphans. It's about time people told the stories about these orphans using plays, skits, even movies. Lights, camera, act now!
- How about art?
Art moves people. Whether through painting, drawing, photography, music, or poetry, you can raise awareness or you can raise money.
- Are you into talking or just hanging out?
These days people don't listen to politicians, parents or authorities, but they listen to their friends. Speak up and rally the troops!

Engage Your Church
God clearly calls His church to be the ones who care for orphans (James 1:27). The Bible talks about orphans and adoption over 40 times, and all over the nation, churches are stepping up to lead this charge.
- Start a Ministry: Consider ways that you can start a formal Adoption or Orphan Care Ministry at your church. Learn more using the Ministry Resource Guide available from Show Hope.
- Start a Fund: You and your local church can take part in setting orphans in families. You can start an Adoption Fund at your church, and Show Hope will guide you step by step in that process.
