Prayer Works!

Dan Coley, a father of 9 adopted and biological children, decided to start praying for specific people at his church in his circle of friends, by name, that they would develop a heart for adoption. Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman were on their "list." The Chapmans have since adopted three children from China and have started the foundation Shaohannah's Hope in an effort to care for orphans by engaging the church and reducing the financial barriers to adoption.

Steven Curtis Chapman recognizes the crucial role this "kamikaze prayer warrior" played in his family's hearts; they call their conversion to adoption nothing less than a miracle. Steven even goes as far as to say he and his friends on Coley's "list" may have moved far away from the Coleys had they known what he was doing. Many at their church have now adopted, and these families are forever grateful that they did not miss this invitation to experience God and His love through adoption.
