Step 1: Choose a plan

There are many ways that you can be an advocate and raise money! Take whatever interests you (music, food, athletics, etc.), and use it to get the word out and raise funds. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Birthday Wish Garage Sale Change for Orphans Show Hope Golf Sponsor Party Run a Race

Birthday Wish Instead of collecting gifts or money for yourself on your birthday, you can use your birthday to raise awareness and funds for orphans! You can host a party or put the word out on Facebook. You can make a difference on your birthday! Garage Sale Is it time to clean out your house? You can use the money you raise to help give an orphan a home of their own! Host a garage sale and donate the proceeds to Show Hope so an orphan can have a loving home! Change for Orphans You can collect loose bills and change with any group such as your family, small group, church or friends. Use Bible verses, videos, and other resources to energize your group. Learn more here. Show Hope Golf Help host a golf tournament with Show Hope! One tournament raised over $20,000, and you can do this too! If you are interested in becoming a Show Hope Golf champion in your city, fill out the registration form and let us know! Sponsor Party Get all your friends together to tell them about the importance of becoming Show Hope sponsors! Use Show Hope videos or the Answer the Cry DVD to inspire, and see what happens when a community gets behind caring for orphans! Run a Race You can ask your friends to sponsor you when you run a 10k, marathon or really for any event! Ask them to donate to Show Hope for every (mile you run, kilometer you swim, inch of mustache you grow, etc.) Use the money you raise to change an orphan's future!

Step 2: Set a Goal

Once you know what you want to do, next figure out when you want to do it and how much you want to raise!

Pick a specific date: Setting a timeline helps keep up the energy! If you want an ongoing event, choose a date for your efforts to conclude for this year, and then set the same date for next year!

• Spring Advocate efforts wrap up by June 10th, so if you want a Spring event, pick any date before then!
• Other great dates are: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Orphan Sunday (in November, which is National Adoption Awareness Month)

Choose a target amount: It helps to know what you want to do, and a goal can help energize people to respond.

• $5,000 will fund a complete adoption grant! We will even tell you the first name and country of the orphan you help by providing that child a forever family.
• $2,500 will help provide heart surgery for an orphan with special medical needs
• $1,000 can be donated to a specific country/region to help an orphan from that region receive a forever family.
• $750 will help provide the resources necessary for a cleft lip or palate surgery
• $500 helps provide both an orphan with a forever family and a child at a Show Hope Special Care Center with life-giving medical care.

Step 4: Raise the Funds!

Now that you've got everything you need, it's time to raise the funds that will transform an orphan's future!

Be sure to take pictures of your effort. Then write up your story and email us a Word document and pictures of what you did! This will allow us to further encourage other Advocates in their efforts, and you may just find your picture in our newsletter or on our website! Send your story to online@showhope.org.

There are two ways you can get us the funds.

1. Collect all the money at your event and have checks made out to Show Hope. Then mail us all the money you raised in one package to:
